Juventus fans blast Cristiano Ronaldo despite getting a goal in Serie A draw

Juventus fans had some strong words for Cristiano Ronaldo after the defending Serie A champions could only manage a 2-2 draw against Sassuolo.

Leonardo Bonucci’s early strike was cancelled out by former Chelsea youngster Jeremie Boga.

Francesco Caputo then gave Sassuolo the lead in the second half following some poor communication between Juan Cuadrado and Matthijs de Ligt.

Ronaldo then scored a penalty after Paulo Dybala was brought down in the area to earn Juventus a point.

Despite the draw meaning their unbeaten league record is still intact, it has given Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan a golden opportunity to leapfrog them.

Unsurprisingly the failure to earn all three points has infuriated many Juventus fans, with some taking aim at Ronaldo.

“Honestly, Cristiano Ronaldo is DREADFUL these days,” wrote one. “He's slow, can't dribble past anyone, his touch is off so many times, too selfish sometimes cause he doesn't seem to accept that he can't dribble past anyone and his acceleration isn't what it used to be.”

“Cristiano Ronaldo is averaging a goal from open play every 5 hours and 20 minutes this season,” another said. “No longer elite.”

“Ronaldo is probably our worst player currently in the team,” added a third. “Sarri should bench Ronaldo in the upcoming games and bring him on as a sub. We Juve fans are tired of seeing Ronaldo drop disaster class every week.

“I remember giving him a standing ovation when he scored the bicycle kick against us in UCL. We were really tricked into believing that he's one of the best player's in the world just to realise he's not even better than Shaqiri.”

Juventus will be hoping to bounce back next week when they face third-placed Lazio who are in excellent form.

They are unbeaten in their last nine Serie A matches and will certainly relish the chance to face Juventus off the back of a poor performance.
